The Shine Centre

WORDS CAN CHANGE WORLDS ~ BUILDING A NATION OF READERS

Children come to the Shine Centre for a minimum of 1 year and a maximum of 2. It costs R85 a month to keep a child on the Shine programme. Your donation will help us provide individual assessments for all Grade One learners, a two year placement in the Shine Centre programme for every child deemed "at risk," a result-driven, proven reading intervention programme twice a week for Grade Two and Three learners, intensive volunteer training, parent workshops for all Grade One and Two parents, Teacher Support, Grade One and Two class book clubs and an informal library to encourage leisure reading at home.
