WORDS CAN CHANGE WORLDS

Currently, Shine has over 350 volunteers who partner with one or two children during Literacy Hour.
You don't have to be a qualified teacher to volunteer at Shine.
A love of books and children and a willingness to do our basic training is all it takes. We require volunteers to commit to a minimum of 1.5 hours per week, meeting with two childs for one Literacy Hour session. The extra half hour is allotted for preparation and cleanup before and after each session.
We know that each volunteer's schedule is different. Whether you can come for one session one day a week or two sessions five days a week, Shine values your commitment.
Interested in helping? Please send us a message on our contact page and the Shine Team will get back to you.
